A/Prof Chng Chai Kiat is the Chief Dental Officer of Singapore and Registrar of the Singapore Dental Council. He is the Head and Senior Consultant, Cleft and Craniofacial Dentistry Unit, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital. He teaches at both the post-graduate Orthodontic Programme as well as the Pediatric Dentistry post-graduate programme. He is also the chairperson of the Dental Specialist Accreditation Board in Singapore.
His areas of interest include biomaterials, cleft and its relation to airway space and sleep apnea; and on Surgery-First. He completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery and Masters in Dental Surgery (Orthodontics) from the National University of Singapore and completed a Fellowship Programme in Cleft and Craniofacial Orthodontics from Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Taiwan. He is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore and College of Dental Surgery Surgeons.
